Golf Course Review Websites
This blog started it all for me. It was reading these review that made me begin my own blog and take on the goal of playing the top 100 golf courses in the world. John has now played every single top 100 course in the world! The course insights are great and you can thumb through these reviews for days. I am lucky enough to have become friends with John and we have been able to meet up on both sides of the Atlantic.
Golf Tripper is a great site started by the Itinerant Golfer. The site offers reviews from a number of different golfers, but many are by the Itinerant Golfer himself, who has played 95 of the top 100 courses in the United States. The writing is great and he makes you feel like you’re actually visiting the course.
Product Reviews Websites
Fresh Golf Reviews has course reviews, but I like the website for its product reviews. Clubs, bags, apparel and everything else product-wise can be found on the site.
These guys have reviewed a ton of products, including 25+ shafts alone. Watch out for their giveaways, which can be very good depending on the time of year.
This site reviews nearly everything and also features swing tips. Again, I like Three Guys Golf for their product reviews. They also offer a golf lifestyle aspect that isn’t found on many other golf sites.
Golf News Websites
Whenever I want to know anything newsworthy in the golf world, this is the first website that I check. Geoff has experience in course design, has written a handful of golf books, and doesn’t hold back his opinions on the site, which I really like. I haven’t listed any other site here because you don’t need to go any further than geoffshackelford.com.
Having spent a summer working in NYC at GOLF Magazine / Golf.com, I can attest that these guys really know their stuff. I particularly like the features articles written for the magazine and website, but I often get my “golf news” on golf.com as well.
This site is not only a podcast. Each show is accompanied by an informative post on the site, and Ruairidh Macdonald creates great content every week. I am a co-host on the podcast, and the topics addressed range from course reviews to current event news. If you are planning a golf trip to Scotland, you’ve got to check out this site first.
If you would like your website to be added to this page, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will have a look!
Ran Morrissett started Golf Club Atlas to be a place for frank and honest discussion about golf course architecture. A lively forum on the site acts as the grounds for discussion about everything from new course construction to debating the classics. The site also has a base of great course reviews that are absolutely worth reading!
